Located
in Texas City, Rain Song students will attend the Dickinson
Independent School District with many of its local campuses
earning exemplary ratings by the Texas Education Agency. Dickinson
High School was recognized by Texas Monthly as one of only
two four-star high schools in Galveston County. DISD strives
to ensure that all students have successful learning opportunities
that help them reach their full potential and add quality
throughout their lives. One high school, one junior high school,
two middle schools, four elementary schools and one special
services school serve the area.
Texas City is also home to College of the Mainland, a two-year
community college known for its strong working relationship
with area high schools. Its School To-Work Program gives juniors
and seniors a way to obtain college credits while still in
high school. College of the Mainland offers a two-year associate's
degree program. It prides itself on preparing students to
compete in the local job market.
Rainsong residents will enjoy a variety of recreational opportunities.
There will be several miles of greenbelt trails traversing
the community. In addition, many other outdoor activities
will take place in parks scattered throughout the area.
Texas City has so much to offer. From its beginnings as a
railroad hub, it has now become the 10th largest seaport in
the nation.
